Whelp, fixed it. Turns out that wine sometimes asks for ALSA when it should be looking for Pulse. So I googled and found "winepulse", which after installation now has Space Trader running flawlessly....

Well, just started the Crossover trial today - so far enjoying it, and having less 'drag' from RAM useage than under windows, ironically. Getting the same framerates, finding it much easier.

Newb here, but fairly experienced with windows prior. Won't go into a song-and-dance about windows, I still appreciate the products they make. Just don't feel they're for me since they stopped...

I can update, but adding the ppa crashes me out, with Synaptic, the Software Sources admin tool, and with the terminal instructions; sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
