When it's idle it's about 50-60C which doesn't seem that bad. Would useing a high quality thermal compound like arctic silver help? And while not as good as taking it apart and cleaning it I've used...

KDE has much better power management than gnome.

Before you can rip dvds on ubuntu you have to get the medibuntu repository.
To add the medibuntu repository, open the terminal and paste in
sudo wget...

I have ubuntu with kde installed.
Starting one week ago when I boot my screen goes black with some small short lines.
The only way I can make it work is if I add i915.modeset=0 to the grub entry....

Is there a way to reset the settings back to default(like deleting the config)?
