[xubuntu] Re: Files being deleted randomly.

    Thanks everyone.

Last question: is it possible to name my drive when I format on gparted? I looked and it just formats and names the drive itself. I also don't remember it ever asking me if I...

[xubuntu] Re: Files being deleted randomly.

How do I check to make sure the volume was properly ejected? I click eject or unmount, but I still see the drive on my desktop. (It's transparent though, and I assume this means it isn't mounted). I...

    Hi,

I'm using an SD card for additional storage/backup for my documents. Today, a bunch of my files got deleted from one of the folders inside the SD card. This happened before, but the files...

    [xubuntu] Karmic Binary?

    Hi,

I have a repo under http://ubuntu.global-web.us/karmic binary in the software sources, and I have no idea what this is for. It obviously can't find it during updates because there's a space...

[xubuntu] Re: Power Management & xorg crash

It looks like I'm getting xorg crashes randomly while using the computer as well.

In the details the title is:
Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in raise.

I can ignore the problem, but I want to make...

Hi, I'm using Xubuntu on a Thinkpad x230.

When I start up my computer, I occasionally get a black screen that kind of looks like a terminal. It asks for my username and password, and when I enter...

[xubuntu] Re: Power Management & xorg crash

Wow. I feel stupid. I didn't even bother looking at the screensaver settings. Thank you.

Also... Should I disable suspend and just shut down all the time? I don't particularly mind, but I also...

I believe I found the solution!
    http://www.webupd8.org/2012/10/xfce-sync-to-vblank-support-for-xfwm.html

I Googled "xfce screen tearing" instead of "display flickers" and was able to find that....

    [xubuntu] Re: Display Issues (x230)

Tried it... didn't solve the problem.

I think it makes it a little better, but it's very marginal. Enabled or not, the tearing is still there and really noticeable.

    [xubuntu] Re: Display Issues (x230)

    Some more notes:

The problem did not occur in regular Ubuntu. It also did not flicker when I ran Gnome and Cinnamon on Xubuntu. However, I got the flickers again when I ran Kubuntu. The flickers...
