Right now my script looks like this (I have more subfolders actually):

Navigate to the folder where you downloaded drivers and run those two commands, that's all. You should get two new files with *.deb extension.
You need to install alien.
Try to purge the drivers
sudo dpkg -P cndrvcups-ufr2-us
sudo dpkg -P cndrvcups-common
sudo service cups restart
then install the drivers again following those steps. I hope this helps.
Apparently steps I used for 12.10 do not work with 12.04.
So here are the steps I used with 12.04. Note, I just recompiling the steps already mentioned in this thread.
