    By "recursive events", I think agustinalarconmuller means "repeating events".

    I will try your method (next monday). I will post back as to if I find your method easier, better than my workaround...

    Workaround:

    I'm using TB 3.1.2 and Ubuntu Lucid 32bit. Lightning 1.0b2

    This is a collective effort, after reading all the entries in this thread.

    Seems like a serious bug that they've pushed to the repos.

    Try removing appmenu-gtk. I remember that being 'autoremoved' after I took down indicator-datetime.
