  1. Re: Cant install Humble Bundle .sh game (Worms Reloaded).

Have you installed ia32-libs package? try running with sh ./WormsReloaded.bin.x86 from inside the folder using a terminal. That should work

I'd like to know what 32-bit packages I'll need to...
  2. Re: New Unity feature: drag removable media onto trash to unmount

I'd have to agree. I'm more likely to think dragging a volume to thrash would just delete all its contents rather than unmount it :(

Just to be sure, did you set LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=1?

Re: What's the plans for / Btrfs on Natty?

As I understand it, it's available as an optional filesystem. Don't expect it as default just yet. That'll probably take another release or two (at least) before that happens.

    Re: Overlay Scrollbars

That raises some interesting questions: Why isn't it enabled? How do I enable it? Is it off by-default, or did I do something that disabled it?

I guess I'll google it, but if anybody knows...

    Re: Overlay Scrollbars

What are the requirements to run this? I've tried with Natty in a VM and have never seen it work. Does it require hardware acceleration to work? or, does it simply not work at all in a VM?

Re: btrfs broken by new kernel Natty?

I'm guessing it doesn't work outside a VM yet. Maybe things'll work once Alpha 2 is out.

Re: btrfs broken by new kernel Natty?

Well it _is_ a daily testing ISO.

Were you installing in VBox or on a real machine? I was using Jan 23rd ISO I think. Trying Jan 26th ISO now in VBox :)

    Update:

Jan 26th ISO works for me in...

Re: Full BTRFS support in grub

I tried 20 Jan ISO in VM. Installs (though apport said Ubiquity crashed) and even boots though it gives an "error: sparse file no allowed" on boot. press any key and it continues on to desktop. looks...

Re: Full BTRFS support in grub

Just tried with today's ISO in VBox. The answer is "No".

Even if grub supports it, the installer still tells you to create a separate /boot partition using a different FS. I was testing with the...

  14. Re: Will they eventually have live iso for nvidia users?

Not sure what you're asking here. Are you asking if a stable working nouveau will be included with Natty, or that the proprietary nVidia drivers will?

Updates to the proprietary drivers depends on...

    Re: Unity Q&A

"Install"? I thought it will be installed regardless of 3D support on the machine? If Unity can't run, then 2D mode will be used instead... or, have I been misunderstanding the recent news?

Not so fast, I think. If it has I'm sure there'd be big news by now

Press Esc at the boot splash and post any error messages on the screen here. Also give your hardware specs.

Re: Have to enter keyring password twice

This is off topic but... isn't it supposed to be apt-get --purge remove <packagename>? rather than apt-get purge <packagename>? or, are they synonymous commands? Just curious here
  20. Re: Possible to update from 10.04 64bits to 10.10 32 bits?

What makes you say 64-bit isn't available anymore?

Only way I know to go 10.04 64-bit to 10.10 32-bit is to reformat and clean install Ubuntu.
  21. Re: Not Loving the new install dialogue and partitioning wizard!

It's a work in progress after all. Yesterday's ISO seems to work when I tested in a VM.

I do agree on the slide show bit. I guess they haven't gotten around to fixing it for the new installer yet?...

Re: Multi-touch Support Lands in Maverick

Well, how many ways can you use your fingers on a touchscreen? Maybe I wasn't clear on my point.

What I mean is that the users will only have a few basic gestures to use with multi-touch devices...

Re: Multi-touch Support Lands in Maverick

I think the point is not for the user to learn, but for the developers.

It'll probably not differ much from what you can currently do with multi-touch devices for end users (pinch, flick, etc..)
