  1. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

Hmmmm...back to the wl (Broadcom STA) driver, which now seems faster as long as I am on ac and not battery power. Kubutu's network manager reports very slow speeds, which are directly contradicted...
  2. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

OK, installed the brcm80211 driver per the instructions - still somewhat unstable but maybe better? According to the readme, it's still unstable with the 43224 chip and multicore processors (my...
  3. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

I know the kernel team has been making changes to the brcm80211 driver, so maybe I'll try the latest version. The Broadcom STA proprietary driver (wl.ko) has been extremely slow (never connects over...
  4. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

The linux wireless wiki says that this driver is unstable for my card (43224) unless I restrict the kernel to one cpu. I'll wait for a bit, I guess.

Oh, by the way, 64-bit version.
  6. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

  7. [all variants] Re: New brcm80211 driver guide for Broadcom wireless cards

Tried it - it worked much faster than the Broadcom STA wl driver, but it was pretty unstable - only worked for a few minutes at a time. Going to try ndiswrapper for now.

    By the way...

    Re: ALSA Upgrade Script

For those of us who were too lazy to log the script, /var/log/apt/history.log shows all the things that were installed.

Soundcheck, seems to me that once ALSA is upgraded to 1.0.23, I could...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: MacSlow's Cairo-Clock and 9.04

More information....everything works if I set the clock size to 200 x 200. I also tried modifying the startup applications command line to pass the startup parameters to the program, but that didn't...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: MacSlow's Cairo-Clock and 9.04

I have a new install of Ubuntu 9.04 and just installed cairo-clock as well and have the same problem. Somehow the window size seems to be correct, but the clock picture within the window keeps being...
