Please, please, PLEASE give us the option to choose during installation between a very pretty & very flashy DE and a nice simple, very basic DE. Surely that's not too complicated or too much to ask....

when i tried the live ubuntu 12.04 i had problems. the menu showed an empty box which looked like someone was shining a bright blue light at the back of it. very pretty but totally useless. i guess...
