I'll read up on vlans.

On Karmic, I had choqok working just fine and displaying tweets as notifications,
but after upgrading to Lucid about a week ago and trying out gwibber, I noticed that gwibber doesn't display...
When using a kde app under ubuntu, opening the 'open file' dialogue causes the application to hang, and eventually (after quite some time) to open the file dialogue.
Does anyone else have this...
i solved it by changing the setting in gconf-editor,
desktop->gnome-> peripherals->computername->0
and changed the order of the input languages (making US first).
Just upgraded to karmic, and i noticed that all my keyboard shortcuts have to be capital letter-
Ctrl+A (meaning it's really Ctrl+Shift+A). another weird thing is that when i press Ctrl in terminal,...

I'm able to mount folders in the drive, but not...
no good, still the same issue. can anyone help in tracing this?
I tried loading kde and it crashed horribly. I ended up reinstalling kde. kate seems to work ok, but i haven't tried loading kde again yet.
I use Gnome as my DE, but tend to use some kde apps- mainly ktorrent and kate. since upgrading to jaunty, everytime i press the 'open file' dialog, the app freezes for half a minute before opening...
I can't access 192.168.1.4 with a listen 127.0.01:80 directive. because it accepts only request from the localhost.
That's why i asked if about "listen 192.168.1.4:80". This works, i was wondering...
Currently, the directive in ports.conf is
Listen 127.0.0.1:80
I want to be able to access my server from other computers in my home network, but not from outside of it.
Would adding a directive...
nope. AFAIK, the intel driver is a dead end for tv-out. the i810 is supposed to work, but i didn't manage to get it to display normally.
Well, after a complete harddrive failure, i ended up sending it to for repair (i still have a warranty), and they replaced the drive. So, chicken and the egg problem here. But it might very well not...
I guess from your reply that you don't have a seperate home partition....or do you?
Did you try using the 'repair' option in the LiveCD? it drops you to a shell on the partition you want, maybe...
I'm really not sure because I'm not using kde4 right now, but i think that kicker was replaced with "lancelot", and isn't it, well, just the kicker and not the whole panel?
Didn't get any helpful reply from launchpad yet, but I'm in the process of scanning and repairing the HD with Seatools from seagate (i figured their own tool might be better than smartmontools)....
Thanks Kevbert, i followed your advice- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/273658
