I'm waiting to do the 10.04 to 12.04 jump too, I guess it'll probably take a few days before update manager shows me the upgrade.
That's very bizarre. The best thing to do under any OS is to always enter the online banking link by hand or verified bookmark, but perhaps have security software on Windows to guard against...
Try this: http://www.starryhope.com/linux/ubuntu/2010/restore-the-default-panels-in-ubuntu/
Hold shift down on boot until you see the GRUB menu. Select recovery mode from there.
I have 10.04 on an NEC Versa M500e laptop and when I plug it into the wall while running when the battery's low it goes into suspend mode; is it possible to fix this? Didn't have this problem in 8.04.
Cheers, I'll give that a go.
I've installed Wine and Spotify in UNE 10.04 and everything's fine, but how can I get an icon into one of the app category tabs?
Also, when this page references a script for 'Opening spotify URIs...
You guys should upgrade to UNE 10.04, I did this on my NB100 and *everything* worked fine - the only thing you lose is the Toshiba logo in the UNE interface. You'll have to do a clean install as the...
If you make the USB drive with LiLi (reference in point 1) you can ignore points 3 and 4 as you'll simply be asked to boot into persistent/live mode.
If divergex doesn't reply here's my step-by-step (my netbook's from the same family).
1: Burn the 10.4 netbook image to a USB key (http://www.linuxliveusb.com/ has a great tool for putting ISO to...
I installed on a Toshiba NB100 netbook without a hitch. Then again, this machine has an Ubuntu Certified case sticker anyway. :)
Hi divergex,
I have a Compaq (HP) Mini 110c-1120sa and seem to have run into a similar problem. I was able to boot into the live USB fine without any intervention and everything seemed to work bar...
My Toshiba NB100 originally came pre-installed with 8.04 LTS and even has a 'Ubuntu Certified' case sticker, so I expected that jumping to the next LTS should be easy...
It was.
Simply burnt...
I have a NEC Versa M500e and I've had this problem on 8.04 and now 10.04 (I didn't jump to non-LTS versions). It's not too much of a show stopper for me as I naturally fiddle with the volume control...
When I saw the title I thought you meant a Hollywood job. :p
Synopsis:
Mark Shuttleworth as a Rocky figure, taking on the maniacal Bill Gates (though Ballmer would be better) and confused about...
Good timing, I'm showing this to someone who wants to pimp their iMac G3 a bit.
Was just thinking...When I moved from Win98 to WinXP, XP had a function (albeit not critical) that allowed you to import settings, favourites, emails and other files from your old computer to the new...
Haunting. How cool that would that be to have the revolving box as a boot screen? :p
Aha, thank you! I'm sure he'll be pleased when he logs back in too.
I was very young when I saw the show too and was very freaked by the music, and it seems I still am.
This is really bugging me now, lol. I haven't a clue on how to find out.
Yeah, I think that crown was actually a gold box on a velvet cushion...I tried 'story box' and 'music box' at imdb.com; no luck yet!
Linux is the side effect of free software/open source first isn't it? I guess you can't buy something that's free; just illogical.
Like many I'd move to Linux only if it wasn't for the void (Games and heavy duty multimedia support).
You got the itch on me now...I remember that music from some kind of educational program, perhaps on Channel 4? All I remember is a spinning crown in the title sequence.
