Fixes the problem on a Macbook Air 3,2 as well.
  3. [ubuntu] Re: MacBook Air 3,2 Closing the Lid causes Video to dissapear

I have exactly the same problem. Did you ever solve it?
I've been running Ubuntu on MacBook Air's for years now but this is one of the stickiest problems I ran into (and by far the most annoying).

No, mic still doesn't work. That's about the only thing left.
  10. [ubuntu] Re: anybody upgrade from Karmic to Lucid via Upgrade Manager?

I managed to on my macbook air 2,1. I had to repair GRUB in the MBR (sudo grub-install --recheck --root-directory=/mnt/sda4 /dev/sda), and a few things didn't work out of the box, but all in all I am...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Microphone and speakers on Macbook Air 2,1 (Ubuntu 9.10)

Ah, indeed, settings in the alsamixer solved my issue. I had to unmute some channels (I tried the alsamixer before but didn't see that some channels were muted).

    Thanks!

    UPDATE:
    I installed Nvidia's 1.90 driver from here:

That solved my problem, I now have 1920x1200 on the external display.
