I have a UX21E.
Thanks for the notice.
I can report that disabling BlueTooth helps a lot. I also have a *much* more stable connection on a fresh boot. If I hibernate and thaw my laptop, the trouble returns.
Am I the only one who is still suffering from WiFi instability? On all sorts of networks I get frequent reconnects (reason=4 mostly). I've seen many related bugs over the months, but I'm still...
I get about 5 hours. I use "laptop-mode" with (almost?) no customization. I think the only thing I did was to blacklist the USB-3 port, which was getting shut-off permanently when the power cord was...
I frequently use VGA and HDMI. I have not had the issue you describe.
It's especially troubling that your HDMI is calling itself VGA1. I'm not sure how you can diagnose this. I suppose it would...
This is not a fix, but rather a work-around.
I am now using hybrid suspend-hibernate mode. After some amount of time (for me, 10 minutes) it will switch from suspend to hibernate. Since we have...
I just did an apt-get upgrade and found that grub has been updated.
Does anybody know how we add back any parameters. Also, what parameters do we need these days? (I'm talking about power usage,...
+1 : I have the same issue. Suspend drains super fast, but power-on time is still good (~5 hours).
Edit: Maybe we should just use hibernate, since the SSD is so fast, or maybe hybrid suspend.
Is that with the HDMI connected? You may do better to ask about this issue in the forum for your laptop. See below:
Thanks for the report.
I don't have experience with this. I'm surprised by the error message. I hope somebody gives you a better answer, but perhaps this site will help:

Oh, great! Happy to help.
Probably the .bak is also getting parsed.
Did you try the manual method? If that works, then Ben31's method should, too.
By the way, I'm not sure the 50% and 80% worked for me. Here's a link...
Do you have an Elantech clickpad? This method works.
See the Wiki to determine what type of clickpad you have. Also, try the other (older) method. If you want more help, you'll need to provide...
Oh, awesome. But, why don't you put everything in your 52-elantech-touchpad.conf file? This way you only have one file, and it will work regardless of which window manager you use?
Mine, for...
I think the issue you're talking about has been fixed.
The the Wiki contains a link to a couple scripts that give full functionality to the Elantech clickpad.
By the way, I have also modified the...
Me, too. This will be a great feature.
Where are you setting these preferences? It's best to set them in a file in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/. If you're making calls to synclient, your preferences will not be persistent.
For...
I don't really know what I'm talking about, but maybe you have some kernel module that's not compatible with the 3.5 kernel. This may account for a slower boot.
I'm rolling back. I just had a...
Are you sure it's the kernel? Does it all work smoothly with the previous kernel?
I'm on a UX21, but I doubt that could account for such a different experience.
I installed linux-image-generic-lts-quantal.
uname -r now outputs: 3.5.0-5-generic.
I'm not completely sold on this yet, by the way. I just resumed from suspend and the screen was black.
I just installed the 3.5.0-5-generic kernel (using the suggested PPA from the Wiki as you pointed out). My sound still works. Boot up was speedy too.
Nothing to report yet on the WiFi. I typically...
I don't have a special key for F4. What's this supposed to do for you?
A good hint for you is to look a the tool xev. Run it in a terminal. It will show all sorts of input information. When...
What options did you choose? I have the same issue.
I know this is an old thread, but the command
sudo cpan -fi Device::USB results in
ERROR: Can't find libusb library.
I do have libusb and libusb-dev installed.
