Ok, first what was my goal:
I got a really low power atom pc which mainly acts as mpd server, but sometimes as a presentation tool connected to a tv.
I'm running oneiric.

could it be that the default value for Ubuntu is HPET.

I just got this problem when i changed HPET to 64bit in BIOS.
because i thought that would be better since i'm using 64 bit Ubuntu.
