  1. Re: pSX - PSone Emulator (Patch ?)Help Please

Patch? Just works for me in Hardy, as it has since Edgy.

You may need to install libgtkglext1; the -dev package as well. Both are in the repositories.
  2. Re: HELP >>> Error when install pcsx2 on Ubuntu 8.04

You've probably tried to install one of the Windows versions, wantakill. You need either to download the source code and compile it, or find a .deb file on getdeb.net.

Do a search on "dungeons" in Synaptic, mr.farenheit. You should find a few; whether they'll be what you want, I have no idea.

    Re: play station emulator

Try a more contemporary Playstation, whyzee7, pSX emulator. Not only is it still in development but, being pluginless, it's a lot simpler than PCSX or ePSXe.
  6. Re: [SOLVED] best Playstation emulator for hardy 64bit?

You don't need to compile anything for pSX. For a standard Ubuntu 32bit installation, just install libgtkglext1 (in the repositories) and you should be good to go. For 64bit, you may need to force...
  7. Re: Howto get Nintendo Entertainment System running?

It may be broken or worn out - remember it's a pretty old piece of hardware.

I'm not sure a Linux forum is the best place to ask, either - there must be forums or newsgroups around old consoles. :)

Re: looking for emulators (all of them)

Exactly, Fran, I thought I needed a GUI 'till I tried Mednafen.

I also recall it was you who was kind enough to post a .deb for 0.8.8-1, the first version to work properly with SMS, for me. :)

Re: looking for emulators (all of them)

Yes, I have the CinnamonPirate repository working, as I mentioned on the first page of the thread, minisori.

Mednafen installs and runs very nicely from it, and they generally seem to have pretty...

Re: looking for emulators (all of them)

You could try Mednafen, tjwoosta - it emulates a number of platforms, including the NES and Sega Master System - the only emulator I've found for Linux that emulates SMS satisfactorily.

    It's...

You could try Mednafen, Ishimaru Chiaki - it emulates a number of platforms, including the NES and Sega Master System - the only emulator I've found for Linux that emulates SMS satisfactorily.

Re: Compiling ZSNES 1.4.2 on Ubuntu Linux/PPC

Your save states should be saved in ~/.zsnes, I think, kortez, unless you've set ZSNES to save them in a different location (as I do). See what you have set in Config -> Paths. Either way,...

Very simple: the first command sets up a configuration file for the fglrx driver, and the second sets an appropriate overlay mode: won't make any difference for games (probably) but will make all the...

Ah, that's good, epyon22. However, your fglrx driver is not properly installed: it should not not be using the Mesa driver for OpenGL. See my result:

It is, but using the fglrx driver does seem to give improvements over the ati driver. Could you post the results of fglrxinfo, please?

Yes, AFAIK pSX does only use one core of a multi-core CPU. ...

    Re: Play station emulator needed!

Yes, PCSX2 will require a pretty high end machine to give any sort of satisfactory results.

There's also ePSXe for Playstation games, but like PCSX it's a plugin-based emulator and and difficult...

  21. Re: I get epsxe run fine but no Sound, (Completely no sound)

What do you mean by a root folder, fotakou? If you've actually installed pSX to / you may well have permissions problems. Try decompressing the file to your home folder.

    Then cd into the pSX...
