    With tools like zenity or yad simple useful scripts can be made completely graphical.
    However, none of these support the new appindicators in ubuntu (I think yad does the -now hidden- tray icons)...

    open synaptic, go to each one of the gtk packages you installed, look for "force version" in the menu and choose another version.
    Install those versions and that's it

    it's not a gui patch, you can look at it, it changes the whole way the player works. the original player has no way of saving the song .. or playing it with anything else than gstreamer.

    Try with Inkscape.

    it's a modification of the program to be able to save the track you're listening to, it adds the save button.

    It's already included in the lastest package (on the first post), just instal the .deb...

    I think that repo will make you install at least the m2crypto lib which you shouldn't ijnstall over the ubuntu one. and also be careful of upgrading your ubuntu packages to debian versions...

    The patch file is to use with the source code if you want to compile it yourself.
    Just use the patched .deb (last-exit_2.0-1ubuntu2_i386.deb.tar.bz2) if you want save song option or the other one if...
