Thanks a lot for sharing this :)
Hi,
I have a problem similar to this:
http://old.nabble.com/Xfwm-window-borders-do-not-respond-to-touch-screen-td34186548.html
I'm using a Lenovo s10-3t with Xubuntu 12.04, and everything is...
Aaand one more post, and I can finally edit my profile information :D
Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that :P I stumbled upon that solution as well, completely by accident. It does make a lot more sense than starting it from within Gnome
I'm with you on this one, it really bugs me :/
Not really, although I did get it to run on Meego with the same machine. It's an elusive issue, because the error reports don't seem to even know about this major bug. It must be a segmentation...
Fair enough :)
Another update:
This only happens on one of my machines, the Lenovo s10-3t. Could it be something with the touch screen?
Hi there,
I've had some trouble with XBMC.
No matter which version I install, it goes to the splash image and then crashes the X server and exits me to the login screen. I've checked the log...
I was thinking that too, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
On the contrary, sometimes it crashes the touch screen driver :)
I bought the Lenovo s10-3t, because I saw it recommended on the Linux Action Show. Fantastic machine, would recommend it to anyone.
However, the extended left click in the accessibility settings...
Hm.. Acer's own BIOS update utility bricked the thing, it doesn't even react to pressing the power button now :D I'll have to unsolder the CMOS battery, I guess.
UPDATE:
CMOS battery is...
@2F4U: I had that thought and did one early in the process, but got impatient halfway through. Thanks, I'll give that another go.
@oldertimer7777: Sounds reasonable, I'll do that first.

I appreciate the reply, but that's the first thing I did. As I mentioned, I was able to start up GParted live in failsafe mode. There is nothing to back up, it's completely empty.
There doesn't...
Hi there,
My friend had this little sleek looking netbook (Acer Aspire One KAV10) lying around, he's never actually booted it, because it "wouldn't let him past some Windows recovery tool".
I...
Windows 7 screwed me over for the last time, so I'm switching my gaming OS back to XP :) I am able to install Windows XP x64 on a physical partition via VirtualBox using the raw disk image method:

I speak to you from the dystopian future of late 2011. Everything's gone down the $h!tter. This earth is no more. But Blender kicks 3DSMax' butt nowadays. I'm serious. Forget about 3DSMax, ZBrush,...
prokoudine, I truly do understand and respect that GIMP is an entirely different interface all together. And I recognise that trying to mimic Photoshop could be a bad choice if you want to get to...
I understand the sentiment, but one of the main points of software like this is that people get to choose for themselves. If you want to, you should be able to use Photoshop shortcuts, even MS Paint...
So you personally updated them, but them threw them away? How does that help anyone? :D
As I thought to myself that the current ones (appropriated from Photoshop 6) were a bit outdated, I took the liberty of redoing them to reflect more recent Photoshop releases.
To install (close...
And I solved the VirtualBox problem with kind of a botch solution:
- use OSS with PulseAudio:
To configure Pulseaudio with OSS4:
Edit the default configuration file: gksu gedit...
Aha! The problem with flash is solved:

Hello everybody,
Another OSS riddle for you guys. They're fun, aren't they?
Because of the tremendous delays I encountered in PulseAudio/ALSA, I switched to OSS4 following this guide, and now...
Oh my, this is an old thread. It started working intermittently when updating to 11.04, although my final solution was to just sell the polished turd and get a better computer for the same amount of...
