There are no filters set, and the error console is clean.
I have done that, and I have removed the account completely and entered it again. I also tried starting with a new profile, but nothing seems to be working.
A couple of days ago, Thunderbird stopped downloading any and all Gmail inbox messages. However, it can send messages just fine. Any idea why this is happening or how to solve it?
Hello. I have encountered the strangest problem I've ever had with Ubuntu. I'm using 8.04, and there is no sound in Firefox. However, when I unplug my speakers from my sound card and plug them into a...
Well. There it is. My problem is solved. Thank you very much.
I just tried changing the build environment and got it to install in Firefox, but is not functioning at all. You need to modify the install.rdf file to say this:

Hello everybody. I am trying to import my huge music collection into Banshee, but it always stops importing at 34%, when the error message count is 140. Does anyone have any idea on what is going on...
Try entering this into a terminal:
sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-new
If that does not work, try posting your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and I'll look at that for possible issues.
If there are two boxes in the right of the bottom panel, right click on that and click preferences. Increase the number of workspaces. If there is not, right click on any panel and add a workspace...
Strange. I just restarted x and all is well. Thank you for your interest and help in my problem.
All three are formatted as FAT32.
None of them have entries in /etc/fstab. They always mounted without any entry. Here is my fstab anyway.

When I was dual-booting Ubuntu and Vista, I was able to play music off of my Windows partition, which was formatted as NTFS, with no problems. The idea you have proposed should work. As for the fdisk...
I have an external USB drive with three partitions on it. Two of them get mounted with full write access for all users. The third, (which is where the bulk of my data is), is read-only for all users...
Nope, I formatted it as FAT32. It shows up in fdisk -l and gparted as FAT32.
I recently decided that I didn't need all my stuff on my external hard drive, so I reformatted it. Now it won't automount. I did it with fdisk and mkfs.vfat, using the fat32 file system. It mounts...
sudo tune2fs -c 0 -i 0 /dev/sda1
where /dev/sda1 is your Ubuntu hard disk.
You forgot to set the root.
grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd0,1)
grub> setup (hd0)
All I had to do was add "rt73usb" to my /etc/modules file. I am using Hardy. However, I was able to get it working in Gutsy with ndiswrapper, though it may not have been necessary.
sudo gedit...
Add what you modprobed to the /etc/modules file.
sudo gedit /etc/modules
Then, add "ath_pci" to the bottom of the file. Make sure that line has no # on it.
There should be a line-like area at the left of the window list. Right-click that and change the Window list option. This is what works for GNOME; it may work like that for xfce.
My Linksys WUSB54GC works natively with the rt73usb driver.
Today, I installed World of Warcraft. I also downloaded some interface add-ons, which downloaded at 300-700 kb/s in Firefox. When I went to update the game, I noticed the update was painstakingly...
Run
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
