In theory, the Win10 edition and the Developer/Ubuntu edition are the exact same hw wise. (which is a first, there were always differences in previous generations)
I have just installed the stock...
I have just tested these older instructions and they are still valid, so the E1750 works perfectly on newer Ubuntu versions.
Great to know that this card works well with several monitors.
I am building a developer workstation with this card and wanted to know if it is supported well under Ubuntu. Now I can relax :)
Those are fairly different SOCs (although they both have Cortex-A9 cores).
I don't think that the OMAP4 images can run on Exynos at all.
Android is a custom Linux distro.
It is built like this:
- The Linux kernel
- Some kernel customization by Google (power optimalization and such)
- A touch oriented user interface developed by...
You are absolutely right. Microsoft is trying to unify the two interface types which I also think is impossible. Touch is good for a tablet, keyboard+mouse is good for the desktop and there is not...
Isn't that product called Ubuntu for Android (UfA)?
@Mark
I definitely agree that the ideal solution would be to get Ubuntu For Android preinstalled on the phone.
Loosing the warranty is a problem, but still, a lot of people root their phones for...
I believe this will need to be released by Canonical to the community just like normal Ubuntu.
I bet a lot of advanced Android/Ubuntu enthusiasts would put it on their tablets/phones because this...
I also can't wait for this.
This is a big chance for Ubuntu to get new users.
A lot of Android users have never seen Ubuntu or any kind of Linux. If they find Ubuntu For Android useful (they...
Thanks.
I have been extended the original post to a small extent in order to reflect the experiences I have gathered (still very positive).
The above method works perfectly on a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, I have just installed.
Hi All,
Just some notes for those who would buy this multi-functional printer & scanner & fax machine and wants to use it on Linux.
I have been using this printer for a while and I think that...
I am on Karmic Koala myself but my systems keeps kinda-freezing if I suspend the laptop at home, take it to work and resume it.
I believe that the near-freezing behaviour is because it doesn't...
@simonbonner
I am fighting with the same CIFS suspend/resume problem.
Could you attach the scripts you placed in the /etc/pm folders?
Many thanks
@JP888
What kind of cable do you have?
Is there some manufacturer name or type code on it?
This device doesn't work out of the box because Ubuntu handles only the storage part of the stick and ignores the 3g modem part.
With Ubuntu Karmic, I managed to get it work, so I post it here,...
The total removal and recreation of /tmp has fixed my laptop. It now boots as fast as it did after the original install.
THANKS VERY MUCH.
The Ubuntu Launchpad issue you mention is the same problem that we are discussing here. I am taking part in the launchpad discussion too.
Recovery mode results the same on my system (~90 seconds of disk-grinding during startup)
Fragmented NTFS drives are likely NOT the problem because I have tried to start the system with my windows drive commented out from fstab.
My root filesystem is formatted to ext4. How about yours?
I also have the same problem and it started recently like in your case. So it is quite likely that an update broke our systems.
I have also tried the steps with recreating the swap partition but...
Good idea, I will try this.
It takes 90 seconds to get over the step which spins the hard-drive.
