Ok, will try that.
The modem is combined with the router, so no luck. The other computers including the windows machines have the same issue, site not found. Can't browse via IP address, goes to the hosting company's...
Sorry, man, I am posting here, cause I am desperate... I have posted on several other webmaster forums, and no one can help. I have contacted my ISP, and so far they are stumped.
Your feelings...
Sorry.
Yes. I bring the same laptop that I use at home into work. At home it doesn't connect to that one particular site, although I can ping it. At work, the same exact machine, no changes, using...
I can, what should I look for? Or just post the log and hope someone smart can help?
Hi, I am using Ubuntu 10.04.1, and I don't see how it can be a java issue, as if I use the exact same machine on my work network, I can hit the site.
I'm not trying to get traffic to the site, I...

(ps, Ubuntu can be 'made' to do almost anything your heart desires:D)
Yeah, haphazard extensions has been the only problem I've had with ff4b so far. Can't wait for the RC though. Do you use the daily ppa?
We used to use PAF, but since going Linux, we simply use Gramps. Both use GEDCOM as standard, and we often export files for use in PAF.
How different is that to tinyxp?
I've always used XP in virtualbox, and recently added a win7 vmware player. I am totally sold on VMwareplayer now. Just seems to be a better interface. (oh, and win7 beats the **** out of XP:p)

apt-get dist-upgrade does not upgrade you to another distribution.
May not be strictly relevant, but why do you want to remove Ubuntu? Maybe it's something we can help you with so you can use it properly?
Maybe we disagree on what constitutes an 'intermediate' linux user...? My wife has used only linux (as in not touched a windows pc) for 4 or so years now,and arch would ruin her computer experience...
