    Ive noticed that generally if the laptop uses Intel graphics and CPU its less hassle and works OK without effort if that helps. Some of the Toshiba laptops are slow but obviously not all.

    Thanks for that, I stand corrected, you are absolutely right. I made the assumption that postfix was required for outgoing mail on Evolution.

    One of my not so strong points is memory and I don't have a PC here with NVIDA so excuse me if I got this wrong.

    $ sudo apt-get install nvidia-settings
    $ sudo nvidia-settings

    and go from there.
