WinE + indicom dialer seems to work fine..
Not one person saying Songbird?? That's odd.. in spite of having such a huge firefox fan base..
Music : 1. Amarok 2. Songbird
Video : 1. SMPlayer 2. VLC
Funny.. I just installed a couple of packages from synaptic, after searching for the keyword "parallel printer" and now it seems to be working perfectly for me.
Actually, ubuntu's taking it's...
I bet you're writing your own terminal. For school project maybe. lol. I had the same project. :P
By the console you "have" i mean your gnome-terminal/konsole.
Also, the code should have been:
sudo chmod 0774 /home/tripundra
sudo chown -hR tripundra /home/tripundra
Where are you from? Maharashtra or rest of India?
Asking this because Tata indicom has two separate processes, wiz TTML and TTSL. Their connection types are different.
Ok sorry, I missed your last line. So your problem still isn't solved. This time, don't go to failsafe terminal. Just fire up the one you have.
Do
sudo su
<Code to change your uid/gid...
Little advise, you need to read the cases properly, it was a capital 'r' in chmod. Nonetheless, good to know your problem's solved.
Please do this:
sudo su
This will take you to root shell.
echo /dev/sda1 /mnt/drv1 ntfs-3g defaults,force,gid=users\n >> /etc/fstab
This will add the entry to your fstab so on every...
Just out of curiosity, how'd you get onto root? Do you have that enabled?
IMO, ntfs not supporting the ext-fs security features makes it better for you in particular. Because anything and...
If above fails, report back with the output of the following
sudo jockey-gtk --list
IMO although my method is crude, chown should set the right UID/GIDs.
And the "cd ~" part is why i told you to skip that and go straight for chown. Should work. Please report back.
for your convenience, you can open shell, and type
cd /firefox
then
./firefox-bin
please see this amd link : [URL="http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Legacy/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.7&product=2.7.4.3.3.3.1&lang=English"]
chown -hR <username> /home/<username>
Your problem isn't quite clear, although it's too late to ask, still.
Please try out commands like chmod, chown, usermod etc. Make use of man pages too. Mostly you'll be able to fix such problems...

Take it easy, you're talking ubuntu so you mostly likely have "GNOME" Desktop Environment. Go to System Admin > Hardware Drivers from the menu. You should be able to see your wireless network card...
I have seen this, I just upgraded my vlc at that point, and it got fixed. Not quite sure what the problem was, or the solution for that matter. Just know how it got fixed.. on its own.
'iptables' service is of RedHat family, I wonder if it works here.
Try the non-repo version of *ubuntu. Download a tarball from mozilla.org and use that.
