    Re: OS for outdated PCs?

I run Xubuntu on a 1Ghz machine with 256mb of RAM. A RAM upgrade would be nice if available. My dad loves his Xubuntu box. You should be able to do office work, websurfing, email all just fine on...
  2. [all variants] Re: Overclocking an FSB when installing new CPU

I turned out to be quite simple actually. There was an easy option with the BIOS to OC the FSB to 1333 for Core 2 DUO processors that required it, and that was it.

The E8400 is a speedy chip!

[ubuntu] Re: Hard drive with bad sectors

The only issue with the solution offered above is that the drive does not show up in Ubuntu. It shows up on DOS based diagnostic tools, but not in Ubuntu for some reason.

Is there a way to run...

The second harddrive is seen in BIOS, but still not seen in Ubuntu.

What is the next step from here? Could it still be something physical (like cables, etc.) if it is seen in the BIOS?

    Thanks...
