Ran across the answer to this:
Install dconf-tools:
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
Then open Dconf Editor from Dash, navigate to: com > canonical > unity > webapps and edit the "allowed...
So far I'm only using it for Gmail (which works great), and Reddit, and I haven't really seen it do much except put an icon in my messages menu. Will probably try out Google Calendar tonight.

I am having the same problem on 12.04/Unity, except that conky just winks out for a second, then comes back. None of the suggestions in this thread have helped, any other suggestions?
OK, did a PPA purge on the WebUpd8/Gnome3 PPA and that fixed it.
Bumpity ;)
I'm at a loss. I have a fairly fresh install of 11.10 with Gnome-Shell and a few PPAs (WebUpd8 for extensions and themes). I installed Gimp, but unfortunately none of the filters seem to be...

Hit CTRL+ALT+F1 to get a terminal
Autohide Top Panel
Use the attached file, or install from PPA.
No idea if this will help, but here is a section from my conkyrc.
There is a better version in the PPA now. Just paste these lines into the terminal.
Make sure you remove any older versions.
