[ubuntu] Re: need flowchart templates for Inkscape or Dia

    Re: Video Game Floorplans

Presumably you'll be using bitmaps. Blender would work, but you'd need to enable the orthographic camera feature in order to get really straight grid lines in your renders.

    I would tend to...

Re: Thoughts & Constructive Criticism - My Site

Looking good so far! I like the rich colors on the dark background.

One thing I'd suggest is to align your blue hues a bit more. The link underlines are a highly-saturated true blue, the supernova...

Re: The person below you game

False. I have to test web designs on i-devices, so I have two of them. They're pretty nice, for proprietary gear. Smoke signals make me cough.

TPBM thinks their ex-girlfriend is stalking them.

    [ubuntu] Re: NetFlix Watch Instantly

You can watch Netflix movies in Ubuntu, just use VirtualBox or another VM software package. See page 1 of this thread. Other than that, you will have to reboot to use both OS's.

    [ubuntu] Re: Nautilus Toolbar Shrunk

It was already checked. You can see my location bar to the right of the normal navigation buttons; pressing the "edit" icon allows you to type the location.

    [ubuntu] Nautilus Toolbar Shrunk

Anybody know why my Nautilus toolbar is suddenly smaller and more compact? My Zoom button has disappeared, and I don't like it. See attachment. This is how the original looked (click here), and I'd...

    [ubuntu] Re: NetFlix Watch Instantly

I get a slower framerate on Windows 7 and Vista, but in XP it's hardly noticeable. Either way, it doesn't really hurt the watching experience.

As for my settings: XP Pro / 1195MB RAM (2022 for...

    [ubuntu] Re: NetFlix Watch Instantly

If you have a Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 CD, you can do what I did: Install VirtualBox, then install the Windows OS of choice, then watch Netflix Instant Watch titles from there. Works...

I always install k3b for when this happens. It's a KDE app, but it's never failed me.

    [ubuntu] Re: Karm

Looks like KArm has been replaced by KTimeTracker...you might try searching Synaptic for that if you have Ubuntu 8.10.

The package KArm is available here in 8.04 though; it's just been deprecated...

[xubuntu] Re: making aMSM autostart up

I think the tool you're looking for is System -> Preferences -> Sessions. This allows you to tweak what starts up when you log in. If not there, you might also check that Pidgin isn't set to start up...

[ubuntu] Re: Any diet software for Ubuntu?

Usually you type what's under the "package" column in Synaptic. Try typing "nut-nutrition" in a terminal window. Or press Alt+F2 and type it.

    [ubuntu] Re: Run Application

Not sure if it's really a command...I'm pretty sure Alt+F2 is intercepted by the panel. I think you can install 'gmrun' which will do the same thing and can be started by typing 'gmrun'

[ubuntu] Re: Any diet software for Ubuntu?

There are a few ways to define "diet," so I'd recommend listing the features you'd need and the features you'd like. Keeping that separate from the idea of "dieting" will probably help you find...

Re: GIMP 2.6 release on FTP

I think the bigger worry would be applications for which you've included custom repositories in your sources file. You'd want to disable the repos before upgrading. Other than that, I don't see why...

Re: GIMP 2.6 release on FTP

What do you mean by "unofficial" programs? You'd want to follow these instructions: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades#Known%20Problems

    And yes, definitely reinstall ubuntu-desktop...
