well here is something that seems to be working on intrepid for intel chipset.
1]go to synaptic,
2]enable the "proposed" repositories.
3]hit reload.
4] search for linux 2.6.27-10 and install...

try adding

blacklist ipv6
to the blaclist file in /etc/modprobe.d
and reboot your system once.
the last entry mentions ipv6, so just a hunch.
else install hardy. I have not had...

linux mint 5 is based on hardy. I have not had any problems after reverting back to hardy. BTW I have an intel wireless chipset

kmilo is still 4.0.x . looks as if thats whats wrong.

Another solution that worked for me was to enable the "hardy-proposed" updates in the update section and upgrade. I guess some problem with the old gst-plugins.
