Tried 1.15, computer froze twice already. Flashed back to 1.10.

Not sure if it's directly related to the new BIOS, but think twice before flashing if your machine is important.

~8 hrs under Linux, 10 hrs under Windows.

I have the SSD version of 3810t, which appears to last a little bit longer.

They cut off the charger when the battery is full, which is a very good thing to do. Lithium ion batteries don't like overcharging at all. They will heat up and explode.

    The "top off" you are...

Did you upgrade or do a fresh install?

It's possible that some configuration files got left over.

Both of those problems are fixed for everyone else in Karmic.

Try powertop. What does it say for power consumption? (you need to run it on battery)

    Post a screenshot.

My guess is the northbridge (video and RAM controller) probably doesn't matter, and it's in the southbridge (USB/SATA). Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about that, except trying to get Intel...

Nowadays not many things are bottlenecked by the CPU anymore. Booting/programs starting are bottlenecked by the harddrive, gaming by the GPU, downloading/browsing by the network speed... Almost...

I have the Core 2 Solo version, and while Vista does feel a little sluggish, Ubuntu feels just the same as it does on my desktop (C2D @ 3ghz). Compiz runs flawlessly on the Intel integrated graphics....

Did you have a look at the wiki?

It seems like you need to either change AHCI to IDE, or use noncq.

    I don't have the problem myself (I...

For 9.04, you need to issue a synclient command (forgot exactly what, google it up).

For 9.10, the gnome option works as it should.

BTW, does anyone have a 3810t with suspend working? All working reports seem to be from 4810t's.
