I solved this problem by updating the sources.
Seems there might have been some change I needed to get synced.
Edit: I already had the right territory selected though.

1 day later and I still have no runaway ufraw-batch process. Seems the above info helps!
Found this, however it turns out I'd already turned off Tracker:
