Have you tried to restart and press SHIFT key? This will display the grub screen. There you can select if you want to boot Windows or Ubuntu.

1. Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS navigate to SYSTEM > PREFERENCES > APPEARANCE
2. Click on VISUAL EFFECTS tab
3. Select NONE then EXTRA. It might take a while to...

This will exit the fullscreen mode

Thanks dixiedancer. It works :) Much easier than command line for me. I'm a user not a coder.

Same here when I hit "play" I can hear the sound through the headphones. But when I hit "convert/save" it won't record the sound. I can record the video stream just fine, but no audio.
