[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 startup is extremely slow

I also run Lucid on Lenovo IdeaPad S12. And I don't have such a problem. )
Did you try to put your sata to compatibility mode in bios?
  2. [all variants] Re: (x)ubuntu on Lenove ideapad s12 - hard drive issue

Yes they do. But you have to make sure you're connected to the internet first. No compiling from source. :)
  3. [all variants] Re: (x)ubuntu on Lenove ideapad s12 - hard drive issue

It seems that there's no such a problem in Ubuntu 10.04.

  4. [all variants] Re: (x)ubuntu on Lenove ideapad s12 - hard drive issue

Had the same problem. Solved by adding nolapic and acpi=on to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT section of /etc/defalut/grub.
  5. Re: How to: Xubuntu - Thunar Native Windows Network Browsing

I've tried it too. But actually it didn't work properly. Maybe that was my fault. ))

[SOLVED] Re: How do you connect to a Windows Network

Did you try to ping the PC you are trying to access?
  7. Re: How to: Xubuntu - Thunar Native Windows Network Browsing

As far as I understand smb:// isn't supposed to work at Thunar.
  8. Re: How to: Xubuntu - Thunar Native Windows Network Browsing

Finally I returned back to "smbmount". This sims to be easier.
It's a pity thunar can't mount requested folders automatically with this command.
  9. Re: How to: Xubuntu - Thunar Native Windows Network Browsing

    Thank you! It worked great!
How can I make it mount all the shared folders with one click? Is there any script for this? :)
  10. Re: How to: Xubuntu - Thunar Native Windows Network Browsing

How can I do that? Is there any guide? :)

Are you talking about the lid problem? How can it be so?! :)

What about agazzo's script? Did anyone find a way to make it detect the lid's state?

[all variants] Re: Can't get HDAPS working on ThinkPad X61

No, but I have /sys/block/sda/device/unload_heads. And the value is >0 when moving laptop.

I've followed all those guides one more time and now everything seems to work like it has to. Thank you....
