Yes they do. But you have to make sure you're connected to the internet first. No compiling from source. :)
It seems that there's no such a problem in Ubuntu 10.04.
To get wireless working you have to install Broadcom restricted drivers.
Had the same problem. Solved by adding nolapic and acpi=on to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT section of /etc/defalut/grub.
I've tried it too. But actually it didn't work properly. Maybe that was my fault. ))

Did you try to ping the PC you are trying to access?

It's a pity thunar can't mount requested folders automatically with this command.
Thank you! It worked great!
How can I make it mount all the shared folders with one click? Is there any script for this? :)
How can I do that? Is there any guide? :)

What about agazzo's script? Did anyone find a way to make it detect the lid's state?
Thanks to str3zz my Wi-Fi works!!! ))
Had to modify his script a bit but finally I made it working on 2.6.29.6!
The lid close problem still unsolved. Did anyone find a solution?
No, but I have /sys/block/sda/device/unload_heads. And the value is >0 when moving laptop.
I've followed all those guides one more time and now everything seems to work like it has to. Thank you....
