I have imported a project to Qt Creator (latest gedit from git) and I have now managed to make it run, but I'm still not able to debug it since it won't break at my breakpoints. The gdb output shows...
I made a small change to the glib source code (GFileInfo.c to be more precise), ran ./configure (with a new prefix), make and make install.
Then I changed...
Solved it. Removed the spotify line in sources.list, updated, put the line back and updated again.
Weird **** happens
Please help. Is there a problem with spotify's repos?
I made a frech install of ubuntu 12.10 not long ago and now I wanted to install spotify on it. So I added the repository to /etc/apt/sources.list, added the gpg key and updated. But when I typed...
Waking up an old thread, but this is something that really intrigues me and I want to speak out about it.
The idea that you can search after application functions by typing on the keyboard is...
I set up Ubuntu 12.04 on my parent's kinda new computer. Everything works well, except one thing: The resolution sometimes changes from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 when coming back from inactivity. When I...
I had some problems compiling the hello word example, but when I found out I needed to put -lpodofo as a flag to g++ I understood I had to put "LIBS += -lpodofo" in my .pro file (because qt creator...
I've searched for podofo.pc but I don't have such a file.

Also, ifconfig says "inet addr:192.168.1.33" on eth0, so I'm sure it's forwarded to the right computer. ssh works, so that should be a proof that I know what I'm doing (kinda).
Thanks, but as I've said before I've configured my router, so I know how to do that.
You need to configure your router to do port forwarding from outside networks (Public IP) to your...
I get connection timeout.
I don't have any firewall enabled on my router (I have ZyXEL btw), and I can't find anything about passive ftp in my router settings.
I have a server with both openssh and vsftpd installed. ssh works fine, but for some reason ftp won't work. I've looked at all possible problems: port forwarding (20 and 21 to my local ip), the...
Okay that fixed it. Thanks all!
And the boot flag? Should it be on sda4 or sda5? I guess MBR only sees sda1, sda2, sda3 and sda4, right? So if I put the boot flag on sda4, it will boot sda4, but grub is installed on sda5. Therefore...
I'm not sure why it installed the system under an extended partition. Is it needed? Can I reinstall and make sure it installs without an extended partition?
Okay so I succeeded to boot Ubuntu from supergrubdisk and I did what you told me, but it still wont work when I reboot. I don't think the problem lies in grub, but rather in BIOS/MBR or the flags.

So I just installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my parent's HP Pavilion. The live-USB works fine and all, but when I rebooted, the computer still thought it was supposed to boot Windows. So I booted the live USB...
That worked! Thank you so much!
