Re: netflix on ubuntu---a how to please

There is no doubt. It *is* worth it, provided the resolution is good enough.

Did you try it yourself and succeed in watching netflix streaming? If this works without any problem, it would reign as the most recommended method for watching netflix on linux.

Re: netflix on ubuntu---a how to please

I don't understand why other linux users suggest using netflix with wii or ps3 or other netflix-compatible consoles with a TV set. This thread is about using netflix *on* linux.

[ubuntu] How do I start in No-GUI (Console) mode?

I need to revert the change I've made in my xorg setting files. As soon as X starts, my keyboard and mouse gets disabled. So I need to start in the console mode. How do I do it on Lucid?

  11. [SOLVED] Re: WRONG system clock; RIGHT hardware clock. How do I get Ubuntu to use hardware clo

By the way, "noapic nolapic" shouldn't cause a performance problem since my computer has Atom processor, which is single-core.

    John,

Thanks for your suggestion. Certainly I've never seen anyone mentioning changing

    reboot, the system became...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: WRONG system clock; RIGHT hardware clock. How do I get Ubuntu to use hardware clo

    Mine's:

    $ cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/*
    hpet acpi_pm
    hpet

Haven't studied how I should interpret this yet, but at least hpet is there.
  15. [SOLVED] Re: WRONG system clock; RIGHT hardware clock. How do I get Ubuntu to use hardware clo

No. Even if I set the correct time for the system clock, it runs slower, which will become apparent after an hour. So I end up running '/sbin/hwclock --hctosys' periodically, which is kinda stupid....
  16. [SOLVED] WRONG system clock; RIGHT hardware clock. How do I get Ubuntu to use hardware clock?

'date' and 'hwclock --show' show big differences in time. Hardware clock keeps the correct time, but 'date', the system clock, doesn't (often wrong in a matter of hours). So I'm sure it is the...
