    [ubuntu] Sound doesn't work :/

    My sound works fine on my Windows partition, however, when I boot up Ubuntu I don't have any sound. Could anyone help?

    I ran chkdsk /f and rebooted twice. then i booted up the livecd and tried sudo ntfsresize -i /dev/hda1

    and i got this...


    ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo ntfsresize -i /dev/hda1
    ntfsresize v1.13.1...

    unplug your modem, then unplug your router. leave them both off for twenty seconds. if that doesn't work unplug them both and hold down the restart button for twenty seconds.

    You might need to update some drivers at most, but they would affect your system no more than updating your drivers for windows.

    Call me wrong but.. I'm 90% sure you can't put two OS in the same partition. And as to your swap file.. You should make it ruffly twice the size of your ram. or you can just put 1 gb.

    Even then most of the shrapnel would be caught by your cd driver. So even then all you've lost is a cd/dvd player. But you'd have to spend the cd at like 20k+ rotations a min.
