    I notice you didn't pot key management and proto in your wpa_supplicant.conf. You might try adding them.

    proto = WPA
    key_mgmt = WPA-PSKThey go in the 'network' stanza.

    This may well be part of the problem. If ieee80211 isn't loading properly, WPA and WEP won't work. What ieee80211 modules do you have loaded?
