    When I try to install the deb I get an error:

    "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libpango1.0-0"

    I checked and libpango1.0-0 is installed. Do I need to install dev packages?

    Yes the RT61 chipset works under Gutsy. The supplied drivers called rt61pci works as well, but in my experience they were unstable. That's why I changed to Windows drivers with ndiswrapper.

    Yes, you should otherwise they could be conflicting with eachother. I blacklisted rt61pci and added ndiswrapper to the end of /etc/modules and everything worked.

    I log in as normal user both in X and in console. I think the root account has not even been activated.

    If in the console I do "sudo -s" and then try the same command I get the following error:

    You are on to something with the console/terminal. If I type:


    $ export DISPLAY=:0 && zenity --notification --text "This is a test."

    in Gnome-Terminal it works....

    ide1:0.fileName = "windows.iso"
