    Re: Are Tuxfamily.org/"Pollycoke" Repos Safe?

My long time testers report no errors whatsoever, even across distro updates/upgrades, but it's really up to you.

BTW I'm just setting up the third edition of the repo, right now it only contains...

  7. Re: Unofficial personal Gutsy2Feisty backborts repository available

    1) picpak, I have a Dapper installation somewhere :D I'll try and see if there's any chance (i doubt it)

    2) As for Audacious plugins: I don't use that software, so I normally wouldn't package...
  8. Re: Unofficial personal Gutsy2Feisty backborts repository available

    gimp-ufraw is now available :)

that was necessary since the transition evince 0.9.0->0.9.1 added a hard dependency on a newer version of poppler library. Since I don't want to backport...
  9. Re: Unofficial personal Gutsy2Feisty backborts repository available

You're absolutely right, but my repo contains unstable and unsupported software, I wanted a way to keep newbies away and found that a generic "warning" does the job ;)

    Yes, it's a simple...
  10. Re: Unofficial personal Gutsy2Feisty backborts repository available

    I'll give a look at that :)

Yeah but I prefer the official Ubuntu packages ;)

    Thank you!
  11. Re: Unofficial personal Gutsy2Feisty backborts repository available

    That's caused by

    1) the change in the app name (slab->main-menu)
    2) the loss of schema file (something still points to SUSE's YaST, go figure)

To get your settings back you can drag you fav...

Poll: Re: Poll: Binary NVidia/ATI Drivers in Ubuntu?

Come on Ubuntu, you can do it better than Novell

I'm not saying NO to proprietary software at all, but having it inside Ubuntu makes no sense to me

    Re: Portage in Ubuntu?

i agree, having zillions of packages to choose from is a good thing, but dpkg/apt/debconf*/synaptic is a far more mature combo than portage will ever be.
