Right now the trackpad is very hard to use and I believe the issue is thumb detection. I saw some solutions for older releases of Ubuntu that use the mtrack input driver and disable detection on the...
No I wound up just plugging in a USB Bluetooth dongle I had floating around.
It does not seem to work, it looks like a slightly newer version of libimobiledevice is needed. I keep meaning to build it by hand and find out but never find the time...
See my post earlier on this topic, the bluetooth controller does not work and I had to use a dongle with my wifes new iMac
The patch author respun the patches for 2.6.32, they applied clean against the Lucid Kernel and I am building it now for testing.
Ok in that case I will build it against .31 and build ALSA 1.0.22 by hand as well.
I did try unpairing it in OSX but it did not seem to help, though I could be doing something wrong.
In my case that is what I had to do, I had an old one floating around that worked for me.
Then you have the same version I do. If you start the Gnome Bluetooth utility does it see an adapter on your system?
Did you get them to apply cleanly on .31 or .32? Or did you have to apply them by hand using a text editor?
Right, you need to install the driver discussed on this thread. If you have an iMac 10,1 you will probably need an external Bluetooth adapter.
For those with a recent iMac (10,1) the reason the Magic mouse doesn't work is the Bluetooth module. I plugged in an external Bluetooth module and was able to pair my mouse and use all the...
Has anyone successfully built this and used the mouse scroll against 2.6.32? I successfully patched and built 2.6.32 but scrolling doesn't work with the module loaded.
Yep I tried that first but oddly it doesn't see that interface... Bluez actually doesn't seem to think there is a Bluetooth device present so the udev rules never fire and start the service.
Unfortunately neither Blueman nor Gnome-Bluetooth see a Bluetooth adapter. I suspect it is because the adapter is in HID mode. I see some references to Bluez now starting based on a udev rule so...
So my wife has a new iMac that she wants Linux on (She tried MacOS and got annoyed with it, I guess she is just used to Gnome) and I got everything working except now it doesn't detect a bluetooth...
An easier solution for people on 8.10 might be to remove Sun-java6 and install sun-java5 rather than try to find an old package of JRE6.7
If you need to use both you could install both and use...
At this point you don't need to use that software. Look for Barry in Synaptic or download the latest version from:
http://www.netdirect.ca/software/packages/barry/
From the website:
You want sun-java6-jre and sun-java6-plugin
Thinking about this, backporting OpenVPN from Intrepid is probably easier than keeping two different packages of Network-Manager-OpenVPN for Intrepid and Hardy.
If you would like me to submit the...
Alexander,
It looks like the OpenVPN plugin is broken on Hardy:
Sep 20 14:04:23 GV002462 NetworkManager: <info> VPN service 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.openvpn' just appeared, activating...
I am getting this error with the OpenVPN plugin:
nm-openvpn[7614]: Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in [CMD-LINE]:1: script-security (2.1_rc7)
Is this the result of...
That worked! There is still an issue with routing but I posted that to the NM list yesterday.
Alexander,
I purged the package and then installed it again and this is what I get:

Here is the error I get with the VPN Plugins:
When I run NetworkManager --no-daemon I see this message:
