01) it's far more slick. i don't have to do anything that the OS doesn't natively support to have my desktop look and feel exactly as i want it to. it's the little things, like GNOME's...

i have no idea if this might work for you, but it helped me. instead of using bcmwl5.inf, try bcmwl5a.inf. doing that made all the difference.
