  1. [SOLVED] Re: Failed to execute default web browser - input output error

It seems exo-open (which is used to launch the default applications) has problems with the return value of Google Chrome.

What works for me, thus, is to have the following shell script set as...
  2. [SOLVED] Re: Failed to execute default web browser - input output error

Mh, I tried the workaround you're outlining above, but it doesn't work for me. In Google Chrome, I chose not to set it as default browser and it doesn't say so in Chrome's preferences. Nevertheless,...

[ubuntu] Re: Lirc not working on Ubuntu 12.04

    Bump...

I've got the same problem. It used to work on 11.10. On my system (MBP 6,2) there isn't event any /dev/lirc* device. lsusb, however, lists the apple remote as before on 11.10...

  5. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

    hey,
yeah almost. what really did the trick for me was to set the FingerHigh option. In the xorg log, it said it was initialized with 70. In the documentation, I found that this is a percentage...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

    *bump*? :)
  7. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

Well, the good news is: clicking works (at least via the built-in button). The bad news is: cursor movement does not. I checked with the multitouch-driver: it also hooks to event8, so that should be...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

Oh, ok. In the meantime, I restored the multitouch-driver and posted the output with it enabled. I didn't expect that to make a difference, since both drivers build upon bcm.

    Anyway, here is the...

  10. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

Update - to be more precise:
I found a reply in this thread, that loading the two devices should be ok. Still, I only see a mouse cursor. It does not move, nor do clicks work via tapping or the...
  11. [ubuntu] Re: xf86-input-mtrack: The Other Multitouch Trackpad Driver

First of all, thanks a lot for your effort, BlueDragonX!

After using the multitouch driver for a day, I've been trying to get mtrack working on Kubuntu 11.10. No luck so far. :(

    What i've done:...
  12. Re: new xf86-input for macbooks and other multitouch-touchpads.

mhkay, i'll give it another try these days. thanks!
  13. Re: new xf86-input for macbooks and other multitouch-touchpads.

apparently, i haven't installed them yet as the ubuntu help page on the mbpro says that there is already a driver. i added the mactel repository for some other dependencies (as the wireless driver),...
  14. Re: new xf86-input for macbooks and other multitouch-touchpads.

that's somehow bad news, as i though to myself that the error is sitting in front of the linux box. :)

anyway - i'll be happy to test things (e.g., the udev thingy) to get the driver working. the...
  15. [all variants] Re: Bluetooth support for MacBookPro6,2 (and maybe other 2010 models)

Yay, nice - works fine on my MBP 6,2! Thanks!
  16. Re: my runlevel is unknown. How can i fix this (mythbuntu 10.04)

hum... the problem just re-appeared so slamhound seems to be right: reinstalled the kernel was just an intermittent fix. however, the thread on launchpad does not seem to include a real fix - there...
  17. Re: new xf86-input for macbooks and other multitouch-touchpads.

hm, newest version (and the one before) doesn't work on my mb 6,2. it compiles fine, install also does not report any errors. however, after adding the mt-driver to the xorg.conf and rebooting, the...

    [kubuntu] Re: compositing suspended KDE4

same here now. for some other reason, i had to reinstall the ati driver (moved system install from ubuntu to kubuntu... that somehow messed up fglrx). now compositing is enabled right after login. no...
  20. [other] make -j, two targets: compiles files twice??
