When i boot up Ubuntu 13.10, before the ubuntu splash screen, this message appears like 5 times:
kvm: disabled by bios.
No idea what this is. I reinstalled ubuntu 13.10 (upgraded from 13.04)...
I wouldn't recommend just copying your entire filesystem. I think it would be a better Idea to only backup your home folder.

Currently you can only pin applications. A folder isnt an application. There are ways to modify it to do this.
Hello. Have you tried other flavours of ubuntu? (Like Lubuntu, Xubuntu,Kubuntu,Gnome-ubuntu)
Otherwise i would sugest Fedora or linux mint.
Unless this is a well known bug/problem, I don't think you have a better option than just reinstalling Ubuntu.
Ubuntu touch is still extremely early in development. This release is intended for developers, and for the people that just want to check it out. The real release will be in April.

There is a big possibility that it is a problem with Ubuntu itself. Is the hardware compatible? Was It installed successfully?

Currently there is no way to install other apps on Ubuntu touch. Use the browser.
That is not enough information to solve your problem. What laptop is it? Have you done anything that might have caused this? Did the upgrade went fine with no errors?
Right click a file you want to open with shotwell by default, and open the properties menu. In the Open With tab you can change the default applications for the file extension.
In the file manager, you can click the small eject button next to the name of your USB drive. It's called unmount in Ubuntu. Also you can right click on it, and do it from there, by pressing unmount.

What application are you using for PDF viewing? Look for a setting that could disable this feature. If you can't find it, install a different application.
Steam and team viewer should work perfectly fine.
