I nuked my hard drive and found that some sectors were defected.
after repartitioning and reformating it seems to be working fine.
However I was wondering if I should just use ubuntu from 1 or 2...

I had to nuke my hard drive because the hard drive was not being detected in BIOS or anywhere else (the gparted in live cd could not see any partition saying no devices, my windows OS could not find...

I spent all Sat and got very frustrated.
Finally I loaded my windows os and reinstalled the windows.
After reinstallations everything looked fine
so decided to reinstall ubuntu...

ok, I connected an external keyboard to laptop and was able to enter password.
then ubuntu started completing package installation, however after few minuted it gave me a package operation failed...
