You really don't need to install EnvyNG to install the Nvidia drivers. I'd use the uninstall feature, and then just enable the restricted drivers from the repository. That will install the Nvidia...

I've had the same problem with my Pro 9000. Although it works like a champ in skype and even flash control apps like ustream.

what is it set? If anything other than "none" select "none" apply, and try your video play back...

You can also install k3b

sudo apt-get install k3b

and k9copy in the "settings" you can tell it to automatically burn via k3b once it's done ripping the DVD ..
