    Very interesting. I haven't thought of this, but when I tried installing a few weeks ago and it failed, I just decided the issue had to be a defective CD. I'll try to pick up some CD-Rs next week.

    gksudo nautilus I believe is how you open the gui file browser as a super user. From here, you should just be able to copy and paste.
