Finally got it fixed. In case anyone sees this the fix for me was.
$ sudo ufw allow https
$ sudo a2enmod ssl
$ sudo a2enmod headers
$ sudo a2ensite default-ssl
$ sudo systemctl restart apache2

I posted up in the mythbuntu thread, but no one was able to help me figure out what is going on. (several tried and I am appreciative)

I deleted the suggested files but still had the same problem.
So I created the new profile, copied all the files over, and all is well now.
