You marked this solved; care to share the solution? I'm having trouble with midi in Firefox myself.
Bump. Also, Java from Firefox goes to PCM instead of Master, just like Flash.
First off, running Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card. For some reason, the PCM channel in alsamixer is filled with a bunch of popping, while the Master channel is not. However,...
Upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04... Burned just fine except that my hard drive had to remap a bad sector in the middle of the burn. Put in a new 500 GB SATA, runs just fine.:guitar:
Yeah, I've tried both brasero and k3b. They both use wodim as a backend, as far as I know. And it's not a dusty lens; I cleaned it to be sure.
Perhaps the IDE/SATA difference could be remedied...
Tried to write the Lucid x86 desktop iso to a CD (SATA "super multi burner" made by LG) with wodim on the command line with
$ wodim -v -V ~/Downloads/ubuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.isoand found this:

Ykyagw you can't find a program on Linux to read a particular kind of file, but the format is well-documented, so you make the program yourself.
Anyone? All right, if I don't figure it out on my own and no one seems willing/able to help me, I'll just have to make it a standalone app. How disappointing.
I need to make a program to read and write VP (Volition Package) archives—not too difficult, since the spec is open and easy to implement—but I need to integrate it with File Roller (GNOME's Archive...
Rick rolls never died in the first place. We almost got our school choir to Rick roll a bunch of people. Reimer (choir teacher) would have had our heads, though.
Did some more testing, I can't burn data CDs either. I tried installing and using K3b, but that didn't help. K3b kept giving me a buffer underrun error--though I turned up the software buffer as...
Ditto. Brand new system (Athlon II X4, 4GB RAM, LG super-multi drive...). Trying to burn an Ubuntu x64 disk to dual-boot with and an Ubuntu x86 Server disk for my other computer. I get the exact...
I make my bombs out of sporks. And a few things from the chem lab... ;)
(Note to Homeland Security: in case you didn't already figure it out, I'M KIDDING ABOUT THE BOMBS.)
Ykyagw your primary concern when building a new computer (other than power) is Linux compatibility.
Ykyagw you dress up as a Vulcan (hair, ears, etc.) for your Jr. Prom. :) (I actually seriously thought about this—my date and her family are all Trekkies ;)).
Ykyagw you've been here.
cat /dev/hair | tail > /dev/null
I would have to agree with my good friend GepettoBR here, because even his avatar seems to speak it.
Fixed. :)
Ykyagw your New Year's resolution is to write a somewhat-functional kernel. (GLWT)
Ykyagw you move "Sun VirtualBox" from the System Tools menu to the Games menu. (Extra geek points if it's because trying distros is a game, rather than because that's what you use Windows for.)
Ykyagw you're excited about getting your first Moleskine notebook. (Plain, large, hard-cover.)
Okay, talsemgeest, you were kind of asking for it that time. But seriously, must every newcomer to this thread post the same thing?
That, plus scrolling the mouse on the desktop to change workspaces (oh wait, Windows doesn't have multiple workspaces built in!).
We've had far more than enough of that here.
I've actually done that... :)
4095 uses only 12 bits (111111111111) (assuming unsigned int). A 32-bit unsigned integer goes up to...
