Search:

To Reset Panels type
rm -f ~/.gconf/apps/panel
then type
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart


this worked! but i had to manually delete the panel folder. it ouldn't let me in terminal.

i also was reading a thread about a static ip constantly getting reset by dhcp and the network manager. it gave a command about removing the network manager so i did it...(sudo apt-get remove --purge...

ok, i installed everything as it said in the begining but when I start ripping the cd, it still saves it as a ogg file. I did change this in the cfg file:

# Paths of programs to use
LAME=lame...

the internet is available only through our corporate network, i guess i could take it home to do it, but i'd rather not... :D

i might go ahead and get the dvd sent...

is there a way to download...

I just starting using ubuntu at home and now at work i've been assigned to make a server, and figured ubuntu would be great at that too...

i had this problem too a couple of days ago. I have an nvidia driver, and i dont know what exactly the case was but i went to systems>appearance> effects and put the effects at the highest level....

So i was trying to change my splash screen using start up manager. I installed it, and after i restarted, my window resolution for only the top bar and buttons, is now really high. (see screen shot)...
