    Ubuntu isn't (yet?) a rolling release distribution.
    So you don't get the newest versions in the repos.
    You can't use apt-get to install it as they don't have PPA, but you can compile it...

    And try the LTS (10.04 Lucid Lynx), it will (perhaps) work better !

    Yeah, after reboot applesmc is still deactivated during the boot (after being successfully loaded...)
    BUT : good thing is I don't have anymore "wait status failed" in dmesg AND all the temperature...

    Small problem :

    The applesmc module doesn't load at boot (and yes, it is in /etc/modules)
    Coretemp is okay, but applesmc nope... :(
