In a terminal, if you cd to the correct location then you should be able to type in a few letters from the file name and use TAB to autocomplete and it will locate it for you.
Thank you! I was using another driver previously, but it broke a few months back when I upgraded to a new kernel.
After further testing it seems to have a couple of bugs. I'm using 4.14.25...
Sorry to leave you hanging. I sincerely hope you were able to find a solution elsewhere. While I am here I will mention what I did to work around this issue (which hasn't been present for a couple...
When I used an iPod the files were always stored in //iPod_Control/Music/Fnn/ -- where "nn" are two numerical digits.
I'm pretty sure the files must be in this obfuscated file structure and...
Thanks for all of the useful information. I successfully built my own util-linux with ddate enabled. Hopefully this gets fixed in Ubuntu's repositories soon.
I'll mark this thread as solved,...
Virtualbox should do everything you need. You need to create a virtual drive then install an operating system on it.
Thanks for the reply! Yes, I knew that there had been some attempts to remove it in the past.
Do you think a bug report would do any good or is its absence intentional by Ubuntu?
Apparently it is missing from the Precise version of util-linux. (It's there in the Oneiric package.)
After upgrading to 12.04 I find that ddate is missing. Searching for ddate on launchpad doesn't return anything, though the string is apparently mentioned in i3status.
Anybody have a clue on what...
They don't contradict each other as much as they are simply incompatible. Performing canonical quantization (or any other quantization procedure as far as I know) breaks the GR equations.
If you...
Sure, CERN could provide some new discoveries. Running experiments is how we actually advance the science. There have been some hints of a new particle (maybe the Higgs) at the LHC and the Tevatron...
Neither QM or GR are true in any sort of ontological sense. They are both successful theories in the sense that both have been used to successfully describe a wide range of phenomena. They simply...
What a statement on human nature! :lolflag:
I thought this was about QM vs GR. Why are people talking about dark matter?
I just saw this topic and haven't read the whole thing yet. However, nothing in your post should be surprising. Nothing in science is fully understood. Nature doesn't operate according to science....
I haven't tried this yet but it appears promising.

I got into IRC in 1992 or so. I used to chat on Undernet and DALnet quite a bit back then.
Usually a player getting mounted as read-only is an indication of a damaged file system.
The behavior described in this topic depends on how the operating system handles UMS devices (including...
I haven't used either of these, but I did pop over to the cctbx site and saw that they only have pre-built packages for Fedora/CentOS/RedHat, OSX and Windows.
Did you try the "Self-extracting...
MP3 isn't natively gapless. You have to tell LAME to write header information for specific sequence of files. Maybe you are seeing something related to that. I don't see any --nogap/--nogaptags...
Kubuntu 11.10 on desktop
Mageia 1 (netbook also has Windows 7, but I almost never boot it.)
Rockbox on media players.
When you saw the packages that were going to be removed you could have said no.
I completely agree.
Can your monitor even reproduce that? I don't think the pixel spacing on most monitors comes very close to that.
