In my AP Computer Science class, we were taught to design GUIs using Swing and BreezySwing, AWT was a topic for a week or two, but I found breezyswing to be much simpler.
I don't know if the...
UT3 WILL be released for linux.
But, it will not be shipped on the DVDs at release time.
A linux client will be released sometime after the release of the game. Linux users will buy the windows...
Thanks for mentioning rRootage! I installed the game and can't stop playing in IKA mode either!
Also, to start the game, use Z. It threw me off too, I had to find an online manual. :)
Ideally, I believe one should start as close to the system as possible, meaning assembler first and progressing from there.
Once you know exactly how the computer works, you can think like a...
I use " when typing strings and ' when using characters.
Yes, I come from Java. :)
I use JCreator on windows. All I used it for was the built in debugger and compiler. I don't like to work in a text editor, then open the command prompt, compile it, then run it. I like just...
A simple post like "WHat's the best video card?" can't realistically be answered. You can have the greatest video board in the world, but without the rest of the system being up to par, you'll never...
Try not to bump 4 month old posts please.
And as for upgrading, yes, you're supposed to replace all the "warty" references with "hoary", but this thread was around before Hoary was officially...
I looked around and noticed the problems with signing the packages, I just didn't see anyone complaining about the authentication issue now, so I figured it was only me.
No ideas? Is there anyway to clear my backport keys and redownload them or something. in case there is a conflict?
One would probably just write a clone of apt, using the bit torrent model. Debian packages rely on dpkg, not apt-get. Also, I'm thinking something like a kazaa model would be more effective for...
I haven't been able to use the backports for awhile now, because of the authentication, and have waited around 2 weeks to see if it would fix itself, without luck.

Okay, I was very tired last try and forgot I had already moved my .ko file.... I have X starting now, getting ~1144 fps in glx gears. Is this normal for my machine... AMD64 3000+ (using k7 x86...
I'm getting problems on

I had to use LPD and enable Unix Printing services to print from Hoary to XP SP2, using a Hewlett Packard P1115
Try packaging it into a .deb file,
$sudo alien -d <packagenamehere>.tar.gz
and installing it using
$sudo dpkg -i <packagenamehere>.deb
That should allow dpkg and apt to realize it's...
Marillat is nerim.net, run by Christian Marillat. I've never met him, but he seems to be well trusted, so the chances of one of his packages being intentionally malicious is pretty small. I have it...
Desktop administration is a must, and server is pretty good too. Although personally, for a work environment, I would prefer something along the lines of gentoo for a server.
Works fine for me... THe developers aren't getting paid to do this, they do it in their free time. If you can't wait a day or two, to get free packages, then disable the repo.
Just a spelling correction.
$ sudu –s –H
To "$sudo -s -H"
Just apt-getting it from the ubuntu repos worked out of the box for me. After I ensured it was working, I edited my config to NOT permit root logins. Even though I haven't activated the root...
Did you use static or dynamic addressing? And what exactly is the problem, we need specifics to be of any help.
Alright, it was a permissions error. Somehow, root became the owner instead of me. A simple
$sudo chown USERNAMEHERE /home/USERNAMEHERE/.gnupg/pubring.conf
Fixed it all right up.
I just reformatted, using the new hoary iso for i386. I used the repos from ubuntuguide.org, and pasted in the lines to get marillat's key. However, I get errors.
