[all variants] Re: GNUstep apps are broken

It's not just you. I'm having the exact same issue (found your post by Googling for that error message).

I have reported the bug on Launchpad.

    [other] Re: Open Office issue

I would just like to point out that in the Ubuntu world, reinstalling is unnecessary and won't fix any problems.

OpenOffice.org saves its preferences in your home folder. On my computer, they are...

    [ubuntu] Re: VirtualBox Server

By the sound of it, you have installed the VirtualBox kernel modules, but not the actual VirtualBox application.

Make sure the "virtualbox-ose" package (not just "virtualbox-ose-modules") is...

    [ubuntu] Re: What's with Ventrilo?

If all you want to do is talk to a person, I recommend you both use Ekiga instead.

Ekiga is a free standards-compliant VoIP application that works on both Windows and Linux.

    Ubuntu has Ekiga...

    [ubuntu] Re: VirtualBox Server

There is no such product called "VirtualBox Server".

Either you mean "VirtualBox", or you mean "VMware Server". Which one?

[ubuntu] Re: My USB Flashdisk no automount

What the heck? That package doesn't do anything even remotely related to mounting flash drives. It's more likely a coincidence that it started working.

[ubuntu] Re: My USB Flashdisk no automount

To see why it's not mounting, you can type this:

    $ mkdir /tmp/flashdrive
    $ sudo mount -t auto /dev/sdb1 /tmp/flashdrive

Then, see if there is an error. If no error, see if you can access...

Re: [HowTo]: Fix suspend and hibernate on laptops

Cool, this fixes hibernate on my N610c. Hibernate worked fine on Edgy, and on Feisty sometime in Feb/Mar, but broke around April, near Feisty's release. Thanks, it's working awesomely now!

Re: GIMP greated GIF files looks ugly...

    Sorry mate, not possible.

You want non-ugly images, and you want GIF images. Those two are almost opposites. It's like ordering an oil-water milkshake and complaining that the oil and water aren't...

Re: HOWTO: Tascam US-122 in Fiesty

OK, I got it working by copying-and-pasting the udev rules from http://alsa.opensrc.org/Tascam_US-122 directly into the udev rules file.

Looks like there were issues with the quoting. (hint, hint)

Re: HOWTO: Tascam US-122 in Fiesty

I'm having a problem with the udev stuff. If I type the commands from udev manually (and replace the %N with the path to the device shown by lsusb) it works fine, but udev will not automatically...

    Re: Patching UT 2004

What I do is unzip the UT patch to my desktop, then type in a terminal:

    sudo cp -a ~/Desktop/utpatch/* /usr/local/games/ut2004
Let's analyse this bit by bit:

    sudo
    The sudo command is...

    Re: Problem uninstalling UT2004

I'm sure after all these months you've either found a way of deleting UT2004 manually or reinstalled your OS so I'm little help now!

But, for future reference, I've found out why it doesn't work....
