I tried both. I also tried some different versions but that doesn't matter.

Here's what I know:

- Ubuntu 12.10 (not the +mac) 64bit iso can be booted in ISO mode. An USB stick or DVD will appear as "EFI system" or something like that when pressing alt (option) at boot....

You say you're still having two Issues, but you don't mention them...

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem in gnome 2.26 in ubuntu 9.04!
Open => type ftp adres in location and click enter does nothing.
How to fix?
